It's been a while!

Well, my goal for this year was to keep up on my blog, so here's trying!!

I'm back in Saudi safe and sound and am back to work.  I received a promotion over the summer, so I am now the kindergarten supervisor, which has kept me very busy!! I supervise two three-year-old classes, two four-year-old classes, and four five-year-old classes.  I am in charge of evaluating the teachers, compiling lesson plans, documenting for accreditation, holding weekly meetings, etc.  This position exempts me from teaching, but since all of our teachers have not arrived from the States yet, I'm starting a kindergarten classroom as well.  It is very busy!!

I have 20 students in my class.  They are so cute and tiny!! About five of them speak English.  I'm going to miss teaching when the new teacher comes, but I am very excited at the new opportunity of supervisor!

I promise to update more often.  My travels will start in October! :)

I am posting some before and after pictures of my classroom, as well as one of students. They are a GREAT class, quiet and attentive for themost part. They are learning SO fast as well. Their progress Englishis astounding and we are only in our third week of school. I am confident they will be ready for first grade by the end of the year. They are superfun and have made my time here that much more enjoyable!

home sweet home...

Here are some pictures of our apt. We are on the third floor which is nice for the calves. Just found out our renthere is $2,800 a month. I sure am glad I don't have to pay for it!! The place is nice, but not that nice! We have an adult only pool where bbqs happen every Friday. Wehave tennis courts which we have yet to use. We also have a decent gym here and yoga classes on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. There is a little store here so we don't always have to leave for groceries. It is a nice compound, the nicest one I've seen here. After saying all that, after 6pm our apt reeks of sewage. We went to tell the manager about it it, he informed us that he knows, he used to live in our building and it smells, so he moved! Needless to say, we are in search of a new apt in the compound. Hopefully we get one before June!
